    Wed 22 Mar 2023

We were delighted to welcome The Right Honourable The Lord Mayor of Cardiff, Councillor Graham Hinchey to Pentyrch Primary. The Lord mayor joined our school community and local Pentyrch Community Councillors on what was a momentous day in our school history. Today was a significant step forward in our exciting building project. A day where the school community observed the old building block being demolished to make way for the new build. As well as observing the demolition taking place The Lord Mayor talked to pupils, governors and staff about the exciting building project and participated in a 'Meet the Builder' session where our contractor Knox and Wells shared the building plans and talked about the build process.

Pupils in Dosbarth Catwg were delighted to see the Lord Mayor and watch the huge crane demolish the old building.

Elin said "We are excited to see the new building when it finished."

Molly added  "We were happy the old building got taken down so we can have our new nursery and more children coming to our school to have fun".

Heidi thought "It was magnificent to see the Lord Mayor watching the old building getting demolished".
